Do you see your future in international business, marketing or foreign trade? Whichever track you choose, you can’t go without core basics of economics. Economists are able to interpret and forecast future trends on the markets, estimate conditions, analyze data and use theoretical knowledge to help institutions ranging from individual startups to corporations and governments to operate more efficiently. You will get the combination of these skills with the ability to communicate efficiently in a foreign language and use opportunities around.
Course contents
The first semester is fully focused on Russian language training: building reading, writing, speaking and oral comprehension skills necessary for both academic understanding and daily communication. As a key outcome, students achieve the require language level to continue studying specialty courses.
In the second semester, students master their language proficiency through the course of Russian for University Studies, and also develop advanced learning competences, including presentation and seminar participation strategies, time and materials management, meeting deadlines and responding feedback. The specialty part of the curriculum features foundation courses in Economics, Mathematics, History and Social Studies, covering the mains concepts, theories and models required for future professional qualification. Meanwhile, the students also develop their Business Russian competences, which are especially relevant with their further undergraduate studies and research in the field of economics.
Further opportunities
This program prepares students for the future in government, corporations, and local industries, which do business internationally. Many international corporations have interests and operations in Russia. Graduates with good command of Russian language are valued assets to employers, who are looking to expand their businesses to this part of the world. Besides, the program also fosters a set of generic skills, such as problem-solving and decision-making, analytical skills, inter-cultural negotiation and international management. As a result, our graduates have expanded career options. After completing the program successfully, students become fully prepared to enter relevant Bachelor, Master or PhD programs at Russian universities.
