Foundation Course for Students of Economics

Do you see your future in international business, marketing or foreign trade? Whichever track you choose, you can’t go without core basics of economics. Economists are able to interpret and forecast future trends on the markets, estimate conditions, analyze data and use theoretical knowledge to help institutions ranging from individual startups to corporations and governments to operate more efficiently. Course contents

The first semester is fully focused on Russian language training: building reading, writing, speaking and oral comprehension skills necessary for both academic understanding and daily communication. As a key outcome, students achieve the require language level to continue studying specialty courses.

In the second semester, students master their language proficiency through the course of Russian for University Studies, and also develop advanced learning competences, including presentation and seminar participation strategies, time and materials management, meeting deadlines and responding feedback. The specialty part of the curriculum features foundation courses in Economics, Mathematics, History and Social Studies, covering the mains concepts, theories and models required for future professional qualification. Meanwhile, the students also develop their Business Russian competences, which are especially relevant with their further undergraduate studies and research in the field of economics.
