Foundation Year
Look why it suits you
Foundation year programs provide academic preparation for those who consider furthering their education at UrFU and want to ensure that they meet the minimum Russian language requirements for entry to the chosen undergraduate, Master or PhD degree program.
Know what you’ll study
In addition to the profound language training conducted entirely in Russian, each of the programs offers specialized subjects taught by University lecturers and tailored to your future major. At the same time, you will be developing a wide range of generic and transferable skills which are particularly sought after by employers (e.g. working in multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural teams, inter-cultural negotiation, team-working).
See that you’re improving
In order to check and prove your progress with Russian, during the study year you take mid-testing for A1 and A2 levels, in the end of the year you take final testing for B1 level and receive a certificate of training completion. Learn more about language levels here. *The full-year course is necessary for starters. If you have already reached the B1 level, you may study in the second (spring) semester only.
